Panel debate with ministers outlining what is required from the private sector and NGOs and investors sharing their views on policy decisions. • Bridging the technology gap – keynote plenary session on accelerating the development and deployment of low-carbon technologies. Industry experts, academics and ministers looking at bridging the gap between laboratory proven technologies and full scale commercially tested systems. • The renewables stream – break-out sessions devoted to wind, biomass, wave and tidal, solar , technology cross-fertilisation (between oil & gas and renewable industry)and capitalising on EU R&D by exporting technology. • The infrastructure stream – break-out sessions devoted to auditing grid inadequacies, funding upgrades in the current economic climate, achieving rapid and effective delivery and interconnector issues through case studies and debates from leading experts • The finance stream – break-out sessions devoted to risk management, models and methodologies for costing and comparing projects, incentivising investment effectively, National Action Plans and market analysis overview – who is doing what and where? • The green cities stream – break-out sessions devoted to green city case studies, smart energy in construction and building projects and clean transport solutions • Other – post-Copenhagen – where do we go from here? Nuclear – new technologies and delivering to demand. In addition to the main keynote sessions outlined above there will also be a large ‘fringe programme’ including workshops and round table sessions. |
