| Description: | The 5th Anniversary REFF-China will bring together over 250 financiers, Chinese government officials, technology manufacturers and project developers. China powers up fresh investment for renewable energy projects International investment in China’s renewable energy sector remains strong, and active players are even looking to diversify further: China Light and Power as announced this week the acquisition of Hydro Tasmania's Roaring 40's China wind farm portfolio. CLP, a Roaring 40s Joint Venture partner, is expected to pay $134 million for the portfolio. Looking to diversify, CLP has also signed a Memorandum Of Understanding with Atlantis, a marine energy company, for up to 500MW of capacity. Domestic activity to bolster and develop fresh markets is also evident, with the recent announcement of a 30-megawatt on-grid solar power station to be developed by the China Technology Development Group Corp. and Qinghai New Energy at the Qaidam Basin of north-western China.
