Description: SolarMed 2010 is not the first exhibition and conference on solar energy. But it is the first event of its kind focused on the rapid development of solar energy in countries bordering the Mediterranean.

The new Mediterranean Solar Plan gives a major boost to this development, especially in the countries of southern Europe, North Africa and the Middle East.

The primary aim of SolarMed 2010 is to be a meeting place for players involved in this great adventure. This event represents an extension of the efforts that resulted in the creation of the Union for the Mediterranean and then the adoption of Mediterranean Solar Plan in 2008.

Conference

A platform for players involved in the implementation of Mediterranean solar energy projects

An international conference on the development of solar energy under the Mediterranean Solar Plan will take place on the same dates and at the same venue as the SolarMed exhibition (Palais des Congrès, Paris). The presentations and debates will be devoted to the very specific theme of the current situation and future prospects for the implementation of solar energy projects in countries bordering the Mediterranean. The speakers invited to present papers will represent the following organizations and companies in particular:

I – North Africa and the Middle East

a. Relevant ministries and other state agencies (covering the institutional and regulatory aspects, etc.).
b. Banks and specialized financial institutions.
c. National power companies: ONE, Sonelgaz, Steg, EEHC (Egypt), Cegco (Jordan), etc...
d. National agencies responsible for the development of renewable energies:

II – Europe

III – International Organizations

IV – Private-sector companies, manufacturers, banks and project promoters
