Description: You are invited to participate in the second edition of the international Conference on Hybrid and Organic Photovoltaics, from 23 to 27 may 2010, in a beautiful and confortable venue in the town of Assisi, Italy, that will bring together major scientists in the field.

Main topics are dye-sensitized solar cells, organic solar cells, and other advanced concepts involving nanostructured, hybrid and organic photovoltaics. By gathering the top scientists from academe and industry in the area of hybrid and organic materials and devices for solar energy conversion, we wish to explore the state-of-the art of the research, and to stimulate discussion around future developments in this field, which is experiencing an impressive development.

Brainstorming sessions are being organized throughout the conference to foster strategic discussions on specific topics highlighted in the Conference:

·Symposium A: Carrier lifetime in bulk heterojunction solar cells

Topics which might be discussed include:

--Different recombination regimes (depending on the light intensity)
--The order of recombination (second, third, trapping?)
--Applicability of Langevin recombination
--Etc.

·Symposium B: Stability and degradation of polymer and organic solar cells

Topics which might be discussed include:

--Chemical and physical degradation mechanisms
--Photochemical reactions in the active layer and at interfaces
--Methods to study degradation mechanisms
--Advances in testing of stability
